Tutor Profile.

Hi, I’m Monica, a qualified and experienced secondary school teacher of Science, specialising in Physics.
I have over 4 years of experience teaching key stage 3 Biology, Chemistry and Physics, as well as teaching and tutoring Physics to GCSE and A level, and Maths to KS3 students.

I have worked as a teacher in a mainstream school, as well as privately tutoring students in small groups and 1-to-1. I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics with Astrophysics from Nottingham Trent University, followed by a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Secondary Teaching of Physics with Maths from the University of Manchester, granting me qualified teacher status. I have also achieved a TEFL qualification in Exam Preparation from The TEFL Organisation, allowing me to teach English as an additional language.

I am a professional, calm, and friendly educator with an excellent track record of teaching the sciences from key stage 3 through to A level, with students consistently achieving grades 4-9. I know that all children are individuals, therefore adapt lesson plans and approaches to their specific learning needs,
so that every student can get the most out of each session. As an experienced teacher, I am organised, personable and patient, and enjoy helping students to achieve their goals.

By embedding practices such as scaffolding and modelling into my explanations, I ensure that learning is accessible and tailored to every individual.
