My name is Emma, I have been a qualified teacher for 12 years, teaching predominantly Maths and Science. I also teach Geography and statistics. 

I love all the subjects I teach, and I have had a lot of success helping children make progress in these subjects. When I teach children, I like to get to know the individual child so that I can adapt lessons to their learning styles, additional needs and interests. I want to make learning as enjoyable, accessible and relatable as possible for every child.

I have a lot of experience of teaching children with a range of additional needs including SEMH needs. I have completed a significant amount of training to help me to support children the best I can, and I am always undertaking new learning as new challenges arise. I also have experience teaching children aged 7- 18 working at a range of different levels.

I spent 4 years as a foster carer in addition to 12 years teaching so I am very good at building trust with children, making sure they feel safe and developing positive relationships. One of my biggest strengths as a teacher is helping children to build their confidence by showing them that they can succeed. This can take time however I am very patient and positive, knowing that with the right support any child can reach their potential.
