Hello, my name is Lucy and I am joining the SAT team as a fully qualified teacher of almost ten years experience teaching and tutoring.I have a bachelor’s degree in Primary Education with QTS, which I studied at Northumbria University in Newcastle. I am Yorkshire born and bred who is currently living in my hometown of Halifax.I worked as a full time Primary School teacher covering all subjects in the curriculum for 5 years and worked as a private tutor alongside my teaching for 4 years.

 

I currently home tutor children of all ages from Primary through to Secondary who cannot attend full time school due to medical or social, emotional and mental health needs. I have experience teaching children with additional needs and those on the autistic spectrum.

 

My favourite subject to teach is maths, which I can teach from Early years all the way up to GCSE. I am also confident and experienced teaching English from Early Years up to Year 6. I have experience of teaching both KS1 and KS2 sats and have also taught Functional skills maths and English.I am young and fun and my teaching style is very much hands on and interactive.

 

My experience teaching younger children has given me valuable skills in breaking down tricky maths concepts and I like to use bar modelling and maths apparatus to build a solid foundation for maths and providing the building blocks to success. I am very patient and understanding and have the passion to see my students succeed
