Hello and welcome to my profile!

My name's Sammie and I am the Founder of Learn With SAT (formerly Sammie Allen Tutoring) nice to meet you! 

I have a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Leeds where one of my final year projects was published in the journal for molecular evolution, here's a link if you'd like to have a nosey: https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00239-020-09965-x. After graduating from Leeds, I worked as a Polymer Technologist in the plastics recycling industry, whilst also working as a tutor and support worker in domiciliary care for adults with learning difficulties. My specialism for home-education and SEND provision developed through work and personal experience of navigating the educational system as a young person with undiagnosed (at the time) Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.

As a science and maths tutor, I tutor all ages in Science; Biology, Chemistry and Physics - as well as Chemistry up to A-level. I also tutor SAT practise and entrance exams such as the 11+, as well as KS3 and GCSE Maths. I have developed programmes that cover the entire GCSE syllabus for iGCSE & GCSE too.

As part of my role within the business, I act as an educational consultant for conditions such as Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and support families and young persons to advocate their support needs; whether this be at an annual review, school meeting or any other such discussion. This has been an incredibly rewarding part of our provision as a business, and I have successfully supported many young persons to receive additional support for their disabilities. 

My team and I have supported many students with dyslexia, dyspraxia (DCD), autism (particularly a demand avoidant profile or PDA) and many other SENDs, and we now predominantly work and manage EOTAS packages. It is my belief that education should be fun, engaging and relevant to a young person's lived experience, which is why my team and I will work with you as a family or provider to create and deliver a bespoke package of education with the young persons interests at its heart.
