Tutor Profile.

Hi, I am Micah and I am looking forward to meeting you! If I had to summarise my heart for young people and my students, I would simply say, "I care." I have close to 15 years of experience working with students with SEN and mentoring young people. For me, progress isn’t only about grades. It’s about growing in confidence, feeling supported, and being guided in the right direction. When students feel encouraged and understood, they often achieve more than they ever thought possible. I am especially passionate about working with students with SEN because I know firsthand what it’s like to need extra support and have no one realize it. Growing up in Southeast London gave me the experience to connect with students from all backgrounds, including those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. My own love for English started in Year 10 when a teacher made the subject interesting for me. That experience shaped how I teach today. I aim to make English accessible and engaging so that every student can see its value.

As a qualified English teacher with over a decade of teaching experience, I am more than able to tutor students from KS2 to KS5 in English across all major exam boards. My journey in education was deeply influenced by an extraordinary teacher in Year 10 who brought English to life for me. This experience fueled my commitment to making English accessible, engaging, and inspiring for all students. I strive to ensure that every learner sees the value and excitement in studying English. I also teach KS2-KS4 Geography, a subject I feel is so important for young people. We all need to be aware of the world we live in and how it works! Beyond the classroom, I have visited more than 15 countries, mainly for humanitarian work, which included teaching and training teachers to deliver the British National Curriculum in under-resourced areas. Seeing the impact of quality education on students and teachers was incredibly rewarding and continues to inspire my work.

I believe that with the right support and encouragement, students can achieve more than they ever expected. My goal is to create a learning environment where they feel confident, motivated, and ready to take on new challenges.

Aside from my passion for education, I am in love with music. I have been playing the piano since I was 12, the guitar since I was 17 and I have been singing since I could speak!
