Hello, my name is Rebecca and I'm an English tutor here at SAT - lovely to meet you!

A little about how I got to where I am now - I have a Bachelor’s Degree in English literature from the Leeds Beckett University following my love for English since a young age. After freshly graduating, I jumped straight into following my passion for teaching due to my love for the subject and desire to help young people thrive. I received my QTS status from the University of York in 2022. 

 

Although teacher training was tough experience, I thrived when I was in the classroom and realised that this was the career for me. From the actual teaching in a classroom to building strong relationships with my students, my passion has grown as I have developed. 

 

My specialism is English Literature but have experience in English Language also. I have a passion for reading and always aim to instil this in my students as the benefits are undeniable. Over my two years of teaching in secondary schools, I have taught a number of Literature texts, including An Inspector Calls, A Christmas Carol and the Shakespeare texts - Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet. 

 

Aside from teaching, I am an avid reader and enjoy the wonders of travelling. After receiving my QTS, I decided to travel Southeast Asia for 6 months. Whilst doing this, I volunteered in several schools out there which was both wonderful and heartbreaking. This ignited my love for teaching further as education should be something students love and enjoy, so this is my aim!

Alongside teaching full time, I’ve tutored some family members to test if tutoring is for me. Having enjoyed this avenue of teaching, I hope to develop my experience as a tutor to help more students reach their full potential. Having seen in my classroom the improvements academically, socially and personally that my students have made, I believe I could further positively impact others through my services as a tutor. 

I have experience with dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism and many other SEN students. I can help tutor all secondary school aged pupils and Year 6. Whether you need help with GCSE revision, want to increase your reading comprehension or would like to work on a particular writing skill, I am here for all your English needs and will get you to where you want and need to be.
