Roy Barrow

Hi there, my name is Roy and I am joining the SAT team as a French tutor based in West Yorkshire.

I graduated from Leeds Trinity University with a PGCE in Secondary Education (Modern Foreign Languages) which included Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). I also hold a Master’s degree in French/English Translation and a BA (Hons) in English/French. I have taught in several secondary schools, where I specialised in French at KS3 and KS4.

I consider myself to be friendly and outgoing. I think that languages should be fun and accessible to everyone, whatever their ability. I would say my teaching style is flexible and dynamic, focussing on the needs and aspirations of the learner. Language learning is incremental and I will encourage the learner to flourish and grow in confidence as they progress.
