Background Check

George Mulvihill

Humanities Tutor

About Me

Hi, I’m George, I am a History and Religious Studies teacher as well as the behaviour and learning coordinator in a small SEN school. Since qualifying as a teacher in 2020, I have worked in several SEN schools. This has helped me develop an approach that can encompass a wide range of students' needs. I am a graduate with a MA in Museum and Heritage Studies from Liverpool Hope University, and a 2:1 degree in History from Edge Hill University.

I have experience of teaching AQA, OCR and marking for the Edexcel exam board. I have previously tutored online to a variety of students and I love imparting knowledge and assisting them in passing their exams. In my tutoring experience, I have taught A-Level Government and politics. As a part of my current role, I also teach Citizenship at KS3 and KS4.

Previously, I have worked as a teaching assistant in both SEN and mainstream schools. I also have residential experience with young people with a variety of needs. This has given a track record of positively engaging and working with young people with SEN in education and in the community. I am a person who is passionate about the development and care of young people and children.

I spend much of my time listening to historical podcasts and watching documentaries so I am up-to-date on new developments in historiography. I am also an avid football fan, and regularly go to watch Everton F.C. at Goodison Park.
