Neil Whalen

Hello, my name is Neil. I am joining the SAT team as a fully qualified teacher with over 20 years teaching experience. I have worked in UK schools as a maths teacher as well as a one-to-one tutor. I have taught a wide range of abilities throughout Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
 

The progress of all my students is very important to me. Through regular testing and individual target setting, I am able to accurately track student progress and ensure all of my students make excellent progress.
 

I have supported students working at both the foundation and higher tier level of GCSE Maths. I would say that my style of tuition is flexible, adaptable and friendly, as I enjoy tailoring each lesson to meet the students needs has given me valuable skills in breaking down tricky maths concepts and I like to use bar modelling and maths apparatus to build a solid foundation for maths and providing the building blocks to success.
