About Me

As a highly skilled teacher, with over 20 years experience, I recognise the immeasurable impact an inspiring teacher can make on the lives of children and young people.  I make that impact.  I have 14 years classroom experience in several schools across both Leeds and Bradford and for the last 7 years I have taught at the Medical Needs & Hospital Education Service in Bradford; where I still work part-time.

Through my energy and enthusiasm, I aim to deliver pupil focused learning opportunities that challenge, inspire and enable pupils to develop self-confidence, self-belief, independence and resilience.

I provide high quality, engaging teaching and learning opportunities specific to individual needs and recognise the importance of building caring, trusting and respectful relationship with pupils in order for them to thrive not only academically, but also socially and emotionally.  At the Medical Needs Service, I teach pupils across KS1-KS3; including those with special educational needs, profound and multiple learning disabilities and those with complex social, emotional and mental health needs.

I am familiar with the curriculum and am competent at teaching pupils from KS1 to KS3 who are working below, at or exceeding age related expectations in maths, English, science and geography.  I also love PE and have been known to do wheelchair PE lessons on zoom!

Outside of work I lead a busy family life with my husband and 3 teenage boys.  I am a keen runner and have broken 3 Guinness World Records in fancy dress at the London Marathon; raising thousands of pounds for different charities.  I love a personal challenge.  My most recent challenge for charity was to run 104 miles over the Pennines, it actually turned out to be 113.7 miles to be precise, but I made it to the end (just!) and was the first female to finish.

I look forward to teach, motivate and hopefully inspire you to challenge yourself!
